Catherine Kim Poon

Catherine Kim Poon is an aspiring actress in the United States of America. She has acted as principal speaking roles in more than 30 independent films in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. She hopes to also be the first Asian-American to win an Academy Award, if given the opportunity to play a challenging role. She hopes to one day be able to work with some of the biggest stars from Hollywood. She knows that it is very competitive to be an actress in the United States, because of the appearance of her Asian ethnicity. Because of her great passion for acting, she hopes that her acting talent will be realized far more than the selection of her ethnicity. She has enjoyed acting ever since she was a child. Acting in films has always been in her blood. She has participated in her high school's play and has taken continuous acting classes while attending San Francisco State University. While growing up in the San Francisco bay area, she has been auditioning for different projects, doing extra work for television shows and commercials. She loves the art of acting and how it provides the ability to portray a character role so extravagantly. She really enjoys acting and to challenge herself to be another character. She loves the feeling of being another character no matter how chaotic the character is. Playing another character gives her a thrill of being in another state of mind and feeling. She loves acting on television and film. She hopes that one day someone will call her to offer her the opportunity to act with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

Her trademarks are: her unique and expressive facial expressions on camera, her strong on-camera presence, her variety of acting experience and roles, her willingness to play difficult and wide-ranging parts, her natural looks, and she looks uniquely different than the other asians.

She is an American-Canadian, raised in the United States of America. She also has been studying martial art for quite some time and hopes to one day use her martial arts in a film production along with her acting skills. She hopes to also work with diverse people of many wonderful ethnicities. She feels that working with diverse people on television would provide a way to show viewers that people of diverse background can work together in this world peacefully.
